Enzyme Therapy Facials: Which type is best for you?

DMK Enzyme Therapy is a revolutionary skincare treatment designed to improve the appearance and health of the skin by targeting specific skin conditions and concerns. Enzyme therapy facials is a multifaceted approach that can be adapted, according to the specific skin concerns of the individual, in order to rejuvenate and restore the skin. Here at Skin From Within, we offer three different levels of treatment - Essential Enzyme Therapy, Progressive Enzyme Therapy, and Advanced Enzyme Therapy. In this article, we’ll explore the differences in each of these levels and the types of skin conditions they are best suited for.

What is Enzyme Therapy?

Enzyme therapy, as the name suggests, utilises enzymes in the facial treatment process, which improve blood circulation and oxygenation to skin cells. This type of enzyme therapy is also known as lymphatic enzyme therapy, as it utilises the lymphatic system to flush out toxins and free radicals from the skin and stimulate collagen production. DMK enzyme facials are useful for rewinding the signs of ageing, but can also be used to improve the skin barrier health and function, address pigmentation, brighten and restore the skin.

Benefits of Enzyme Therapy

Here at our Gold Coast skin clinic, we’ve seen remarkable results through the use of DMK Enzyme Therapy facials and body treatments. The benefits of enzyme therapy include:

Improved skin texture and tone by removing dead skin cells and promoting cellular regeneration, which results in smoother, more radiant skin.

Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles thanks to the stimulation of collagen and elastin fibres production.

Reduction in hyperpigmentation and sun damage, by brightening pigmented skin cells and digesting pigmented skin cells.

Reduction in acne and congestion by removing debris and impurities from pores.

Improved lymphatic drainage thanks to the massage techniques used in the facial procedure, which can reduce puffiness and inflammation in the skin.

Increased hydration by improving circulation and oxygenation to the treatment area, enabling the skin to retain more moisture.

Reduction in scarring promotes healing of damaged skin.

Essential Enzyme Therapy

Our entry-level enzyme therapy is what we consider ‘Essential Enzyme Therapy’. It is designed for those whose skin is in reasonable condition already and are not dealing with advanced skin concerns, and is great for restoring skin function, by working on a cellular level, stimulating the skin's natural processes to promote healing and rejuvenation. As with all DMK treatments, we always start with a thorough cleansing of the skin. This is then followed by the application of the specialised enzyme mask. Whether you have thin or thick, inflamed or fragile, oily or dry skin –  the mask can be customised to your specific skin concerns.

Essential Enzyme Therapy is also effective in improving circulation and promoting lymphatic drainage, which helps to reduce puffiness and inflammation in the skin. The treatment typically takes around 90 minutes, and clients can expect to see a visible improvement in their skin after just one treatment.

Progressive Enzyme Therapy

The next level of DMK Enzyme Therapy is Progressive Enzyme Therapy. This level targets moderate to severe skin concerns such as signs of ageing, congestion and acne, uneven texture from open pores and sun damage. Your skin specialist will determine the best progressive enzyme treatment protocol, depending on your particular skin concerns.

AlphaZyme: Works to clear pores and revise texture, as well as renew thickened, sun damaged or ageing skin.

HydraZyme: Got lots of congestion happening? We’ll likely reach for the Hydrazyme treatment, which is great for accelerating results, clearing up the pores and reducing wrinkles.

Bihaku: Uneven skin tone? Pigmentation peeking through? You’ll leave feeling bright and fresh after this enzyme facial treatment.

Progressive Enzyme Therapy is an excellent option for those looking to target specific skin concerns or who want to achieve a more youthful and radiant complexion. The treatment typically takes around 90-120 minutes and is recommended as a series of treatments spaced 1-2 weeks apart for optimal results.

Advanced Enzyme Therapy

The final level of DMK Enzyme Therapy is Advanced Enzyme Therapy. This level targets severe skin concerns such as deep scarring, hyperpigmentation, and advanced signs of ageing.

This advanced corrective facial works at a deep cellular level to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin fibres, which help to improve skin firmness and elasticity. With either a double or advanced exfoliation, your cells will be removed of all debris, encouraging optimal cellular activity. Depending on your skin, IPL or RF treatment may also be applied to a specific area of concern.

As with all three levels of enzyme therapy, the treatment also includes lymphatic drainage techniques, which help to remove excess fluid and toxins from the skin, reducing puffiness and inflammation.

Enzyme therapy facial treatments are a great way to nourish and rejuvenate your skin. Not only will you walk out of the skin clinic feeling relaxed and refreshed, but it also provides key benefits such as improved skin texture and tone, faded sun spots, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, lessens breakouts and reduces signs of ageing. We offer three levels of enzyme therapy available – essential, progressive, advanced – and each can be catered to your individual skin needs. These aren’t your ordinary feel-good facial. When used regularly over time these facials can bring about real change in your complexion and address ongoing skin concerns.
