As the saying goes, summer bodies are made in winter. Here at Skin from Within, we want you to feel confident, no matter what! But sometimes we can all use a little extra help! That’s where our Fat Cavitation & RF Skin Tightening treatments come in!

If you're looking for a treatment that can help you melt away stubborn fat cells and tighten loose skin, without surgery, this combination treatment can provide dramatic results, quickly! So if you're ready to say goodbye to your love handles, mummy tummy or simply show off your summer bod, these treatments may be just what you need.

What is fat cavitation and how does it work?

Fat cavitation is a safe, non-invasive weight loss treatment that helps to sculpt your figure and enhance your silhouette by reducing stubborn pockets of fat without the need for invasive surgery, such as liposuction. As it does not require any downtime and sessions generally only last between 30-45 minutes, it’s an ideal weight loss solution for busy people. Although it can be used on almost any area of the body, it is most effectively used on those troublesome areas like the stomach, thighs, buttocks and upper arms.

Through the use of ultrasound energy the treatment not only breaks down fat cells, but also improves circulation and lymphatic drainage as well, which can further help to reduce stubborn fat deposits.

During a fat cavitation session, your technician will apply gel to the treated area and then use a handheld device to deliver the ultrasound energy. The ultrasound waves create a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the fat cells, causing them to break down into what’s known as fatty acids. These are naturally metabolized by the body and eliminated via the lymphatic system – your body’s natural filtration system.

While fat cavitation can be very effective, it is important to remember that it is not a miracle cure. A healthy diet and exercise are still necessary for long-term weight loss. But if you’re struggling to lose weight in some of those troublesome areas, fat cavitation can be a helpful tool to help you achieve your goals.

What is RF Skin Tightening and how does it work?

RF skin tightening is a non-invasive anti-ageing cosmetic procedure that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin to tighten sagging or loose skin anywhere on the body. The resulting lift and tightening of the skin can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improve overall skin texture.

RF skin tightening can be performed on the face, neck, stomach, and other areas of the body where loose or sagging skin is a concern. Whilst RF can be used to treat wrinkles and other signs of ageing, when combined with fat cavitation, it can be especially beneficial – tightening the skin in the same area as cavitation treatment has taken place, to further aid fat breakdown and restore skin elasticity and firmness.

Just as with cavitation treatment, there is no downtime associated with RF skin tightening, and patients can typically resume their normal activities immediately following treatment.

Most patients see a noticeable improvement after just one treatment (which is typically between 30-60 minutes long), but optimal results typically require a series of treatments. RF skin tightening is safe for all skin types and can be used to treat wrinkles, loose skin, and other signs of ageing.

Are there any side effects?

Fat cavitation and RF skin tightening are generally considered safe, and most clients describe the treatment as painless, comfortable or even relaxing. However, as with any treatment, side effects may occur. Post-fat cavitation, some people may experience tenderness or bruising, skin irritation, or temporary numbness in the cavitated area. Redness may occur post-RF treatment, however this usually subsides quickly.

Finally, fat cavitation is not recommended for people who are pregnant or have pacemakers. As with any medical procedure, it is always important to speak with and ensure your treatment is administered by a qualified professional.

Before, during and after your treatments

One of the great things about cavitation treatment & RF skin tightening, is that they require absolutely no downtime – so you can go about your usual daily activities following your sessions.

How many sessions of fat cavitation and/or RF skin tightening you’ll need, will depend on your individual situation and sculpting goals. If you’re looking for maximum overall body sculpting, you may require anywhere between 6-12 fat cavitation treatments and between 4-8 RF skin tightening treatments. Your qualified technician will assess your goals during your first consultation, and help you develop a plan.

Wondering when you’ll start to see the difference? You’ll likely start to feel the effects after your first fat cavitation session, but the biggest improvements generally take place after your third treatment. It’s important that you allow a week between each session, in order for all the fat that has been broken down during your cavitation to be eliminated from your body.

As for RF, you'll likely notice instant improvements to the look and feel of your skin after just one session! The impacts of increased collagen production as a result of RF treatment are long-lasting – reaching their full benefits around 3 months post treatment. This is when you can enjoy firmer looking pores, with smoother texture, thanks in part to this innovative technology that also helps tighten loose facial muscles too!

Post-treatment, it’s important to look after your skin and your body! To help with flushing the broken down fat cells from your system, we suggest supporting your lymphatic system by drinking plenty of water to keep hydrated. RF skin tightening can increase sun-sensitivity, so staying out of the sun for a couple of days is a good idea!

Is this for me?

Still wondering if fat cavitation and RF skin tightening are for you? Both treatments are great for treating most areas of the body, but if you are struggling to get rid of unwanted fat around your abdomen, buttocks, thighs, upper arms or those precious ‘love handles’ – then fat cavitation could help you kick those problem areas to the curb! They’re also great for reducing pesky cellulite!

RF skin tightening is safe for all skin types - however, the best candidates for this procedure are those who have realistic expectations and are looking for a non-invasive alternative to surgery.

If you are looking for a non-invasive treatment to help contour your body, reduce the appearance of cellulite and tighten skin then RF skin tightening and fat cavitation may be the perfect treatment for you. With no down time needed after your treatment, it’s easy to fit into your busy schedule. So what are you waiting for? Book your appointment today!
